The plan remains that today would be the final Dongers Club for 2023 Regular Season, with full plans to do the usual Post-Season analysis and DFS when we have good slates in October.  It should be a fantastic post-season this year, especially in the American League. For those playing through the final week, the Dashboard/Model will continue to update and for those going into this weekend enjoy all the rain issues that are gonna pop up.   WEATHER All 11 games on the MAIN slate should get through tonight.  I think the rain holds off in DC to let Atlanta/Washington get tonight in & honestly they should have adjusted to start early and play 2, but hey, what do I know. Same too for Mets/Phillies   The top options today: Pablo Lopez (DK: $10,700) … Challenge for the Angels tonight.  Get a hit.  Let’s see if they can do that. Brandon Pfaadt (DK: $6800) … Do not use Pfaadt on FanDuel.  Arizona needs to keep winning and there’s no reason for them to let him pitch out of a jam come the 4th or 5th inning.  But if he can avoid that then at $6800 on DraftKings he should be viable against a Yankee Lineup already working on their fall vacation plans.  Shit, they’ve already done the fall ones, they’re working on Christmas plans.  What do you think Aaron Judge gets his wife for Christmas?  No doubt he gets her a full sized poster of himself getting thrown out of games, right?  What a douche. The other pool of options Charlie Morton, Chris Sale and even Cole Ragans were all tempting, but expecting a huge must own game from any of them is a stretch.  Sale makes some sense against his now way former team the WHite Sox, but $9200 for Sale is uneasy when we are locking in on Lopez as SP1. I gave some consideration to Ken Waldichuck at $7100, hell even a little thought on Touki Toussaint hoping for strikeouts against the Red Sox but no thanks. Do not ask me what FanDuel was thinking today, because they just weren’t thinking.  Job well done by DraftKings making the afternoon set of games today the ‘main’ slate for us to dive into.   WEATHER All games are clear and the roof is closed in Arizona   My top options today: Josiah Gray ($6500) … If the ‘optimizer’ chalk doesn’t land folks on Gray today then we win all the money.  The kid has talent and there is zero pressure pitching this late in the year against Anderson, Benintendi and Moncada.  A chilly afternoon in DC and coming off a great start we can expect another good one today as the White Sox aren’t hitting RHP exceptionally well right now (.187 over the last week with 27% strikeout rate) and well, they’re the White Sox. Merrill Kelly ($9600) … Facing Logan Day game Webb (shocker).  Kelly is great at home & worth paying a little extra for.  The Giants probably will throw 6 lefties at him but Kelly’s concerns are more so with his command which is normally better at home. George Kirby / Lucas Giolito best third options…   Other pitching thoughts Aaron Nola ($10,000) … Normally we would just look here and say Nola day game (bad), Nola road (bad), Nola vs Braves (bad).  But after a couple high scoring games and with Nola having 3 bad starts in a row, this is where you dive into him having a better outing.
