The Slapshot – Dec 4th

With a six game slate tonight we have no teams who are on B2B, but everyone going tonight did play on Saturday and in a couple cases, these are the backend of home & home matchups.

TIER 1

Kraken vs Canadiens:  Nice value with the Kraken road 2nd line of Gourde – Bjorkstrand & Tolvanen.  Two of which are on the PP units and all three are sub $5,000 on DraftKings.  With Montreal giving up a lot of SOg the two wingers are likely to both have 2+ SOG and would also be nice prop plays here as well.

Montreal probably has the better options for a multi-goal night.  Cole Caufield should be able to have a strong game with the Kraken ranking near the bottom vs LW this season.  We can pair him with Suzuki and/or Monahan.

  • Gourde – Bjorkstrand – Tolvanen
  • Suzuki – Caufield – Monahan

TIER 2

Blues vs Golden Knights:  Vegas looks like they might be playing really well but St. Louis can probably hang around with them tonight and sets up as a nice contrarian stack today.  For the Knights, wingers are the route vs the Blues, have been and will be, so Mark Stone for $5600 with Jack Eichel playing so well centering him is a lock button play tonight.

  • Schenn – Kyrou – Hayes
  • Mark Stone

Stars vs Lightning:  This is a prime game tonight on paper.  The Lightning haven’t been very good defensively allowing 3.7 GPG and have the 2nd best PP unit on their side with 6 PP goals over their last 5 games but they just yielded an 8 spot to Dallas on Saturday in Texas.  All the system plays are a go here, Tampa Bay is only -105 on the ML and is gonna get right at home with a 4-2 win tonight.  Exposure to the Tampa defenseman is key here with HEdman at $5800 looking like the spot I would roll with.

  • Point – Stamkos – Hedman

AVOID

Hurricanes vs Jets:  I just can’t see this game getting out of hand to the point where we are loading up on it.

Penguins vs Flyers:  These two met on Saturday in an OT 4-3 game, I would not expect tonight’s battle to go over the 6.5 total.  Neither team is very good on the PP and neither wants to give up a ton of SOG either.  There’s some interest in the goalies with Carter Hart being $800 cheaper and at home.

Capitals vs Coyotes:  This is the Caps final game on a 5 game west coast trip and excluding their game vs the Ducks they have a combined 4 goals in the other 3 games.  They’re averaging just 28 SOG per game and are dead last on the power play.  The Coyotes are vulnerable to good defenseman, so John Carlson is going to rank very strongly today but otherwise I have very little interest in this spot.
