NHL DFS – The Slapshot
The NHL All-Star break is right around the corner and so this is the last article before the ASB. There’s two games tomorrow, one on Monday, three on Tuesday and then two on Wednesday as most teams start to go into their pre-ASB Bye week.
This kind of correlates with the play we have seen on ice lately as we’re getting a lot of random one off goal games and some young kids doing well. Basically, lots of veterans are already making their plans to return home for a week.
SENATORS
Greig – Giroux – DeBrincat
Model absolutely loves Claude Giroux tonight and the value of Greig centering him and DeBrincat kinda makes this unique 2nd line at home stack a nice build for tournaments. Play these trio or try to go back to the Tkachuk/Chabot combination as one off studs.
RATS ON ICE THAT DONT FLY
Crosby – Guentzel – Rust
Pittsburgh gets the Sharks on B2B at home.
RATS ON ICE THAT ARE TOO LAZY TO FLY
McTavish – Henry – Terry – Fowler
This is my favorite value full stack spot. Anaheim does play better at home and welcoming in the Coyotes helps out too.
KRAKEN
Donato – Burakovsky – Eberle – Dunn
Both these teams are on a B2B and coming off losses where they just didn’t show up much. The pace should be good for plenty of SOG and scoring chances. I don’t love the game for one offs, so you are either all in on this one or moving on
CENTERS
- Leon Draisaitl … Better on ice matchup than McDavid, just not shooting it much lately. Would expect that to change tonight.
- Mason McTavish
- Sidney Crosby … This little ***** is playing decent right now, he has a double digit streak going and welcomes in a defense that’s not very good tonight and on a back to back. Hard to expect him to put up an egg.
- Steven Stamkos
- Philip Danault
- Pierre-Luc Dubois
WINGS
- Kirill Kaprizov … I will keep attacking Buffalo on this road trip, their defense hasn’t been stellar outside of their last game vs Winnipeg and with the Kirill below 8k he is easy to fit in tonight.

- Ridley Greig … Not just chasing that first game 20 point spot but at 3k and versus the Senators (25th over last month vs Centers) this isn’t a bad value spot.
Marc-Andre Fleury … Let’s end this Buffalo road trip with a shutout? It’s asking for a lot I know, but the upside here is tremendous IMO.
Connor Hellebuyck … The Flyers are not winning tonight
