Pitching
Shane Bieber (CLE), $10,600
For me tonight it starts and ends with Bieber as far as an SP1 goes. The matchup is phenomenal and Bieber has 23 or more DK points in three of his last four starts. The Royals’ offense isn’t worrisome and Bieber should carve them up.
Tyler Anderson (LAD), $8,100
The lefty for the Dodgers not named Clayton Kershaw, Julio Urias, or Sandy Koufax comes into this start with back-to-back mediocre performances. That should change tonight as he takes on the San Francisco Giants, the biggest frauds of 2021 in a home start where he’s severely underpriced. The Giants have the fourth-highest K rate over the past two weeks with a putrid .093 ISO over that span. $8,100 on DK seems criminal, almost seems like a trap but it’s too appealing to ignore, for me anyway.
Cole Irvin (OAK), $7,800
Aside from Anderson Irvin is a solid SP2 to consider except a lot less people will roster Irvin because of the matchup. The reality is that over the past 14 days the Braves have a 26 percent K rate (fifth-highest in baseball) and are playing in a shitty park for hitters and fans alike, I mean this place is a dump. Irvin is a good SP2 to get off of what should be Anderson chalk and with some upside (he’s surpassed 21 DK points four times this season; once against Houston and once against Toronto.
Also consider:
Framber Valdez (HOU), $10,000 – It’s a little worrisome that he’ll be seeing the Rangers for the third time since August 11th, but Valdez has posted 32.2, 21.8, 30.2, and 29.8 points in his last four starts.
Joe Musgrove (SD), $9,500 – The Diamondbacks have not been a pushover of late as far as strikeouts go but their offense isn’t one to shy away from.
Jose Quintana (STL), $7,500
Stacks
St, Louis Cardinals
Tommy Edman, Tyler O’Neil, Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado
Despite scoring just 10 runs in their last three games the Cardinals line up as one of the better stacks tonight taking on the putrid Nats pitching staff. This foursome for the Cardinals should fit into the top six of the lineup in some way, shape, and form making for a difficult task all night for Washington.
Seattle Mariners
Julio Rodriguez, Ty France, Eugenio Suarez, Cal Raleigh
Over the past two weeks, the Mariners have been tearing the cover off the ball, specifically, the four bats listed above. J-Rod, France, Geno, and Raleigh all have ISO’s over .244 over the past two weeks. Johnny Cueto shouldn’t be one to shy away from despite pitching well this season.
Milwaukee Brewers
Kolten Wong, Willy Adames, Christian Yelich, Rowdy Tellez
In the opener of this series, the Brewers scored six runs and that shouldn’t slow down tonight against Chad Kuhl. Kuhl’s era on the season is pushing six and the home, thin air won’t help in this spot.
