C Aleksander Barkov (FLA)

• Barkov and the Panthers are looking to bounce back after a 5-2 loss to Toronto on Sunday. Prior to that set back Florida had won three straight including a 4-3 effort against Montreal last Thursday, a game in which the Panthers directed 42 shots on net. The ice was tilted heavily in Florida’s favor but Jake Allen was up to the task as far as limiting the damage went. Fast forward to Tuesday and the Panthers get to face the perverbial punching back Canadiens again, this time on home ice. Barkov is coming off his first game without a point since the 15th of March and had a goal against Montreal on Thursday. With a few high-priced centers to consider on Tuesday, Barkov will be the one I lean on.

W Filip Forsberg (NSH)

• Impending free agent Filip Forsberg is still a Predator for now and is enjoying his best season in his career with 37 goals to this point. The winger’s previous high in a season was 33 during to 2015-16 campaign. Ottawa has struggled on the road with just an 11-17-3 record away from home while the Predators who enjoy one of the biggest home-ice advantages in the league are 20-11-0 at Bridgestone Arena. Forsberg has at least one goal in eight of his last 10 games lighting the lamp a total of 10 times over that span.

W Chris Kreider (NYR)

• The Rangers have been waiting for Kreider to perform to this level for years and he’s always been capable from a talent standpoint. This season, however, he’s decided to put forth full effort to coincide with that talent and it’s translated to 45 goals to this point; his previous career high was 28 goals on two occasions. Over his career Kreider hasn’t had the best success against Pittsburgh but this is a rejuvenated Kreider and it showed the last time these two teams played as the winger buried two goals. Both of these teams are near the top in the Metropolitan Division and looking ahead to the playoffs. This game will have a playoff-type feel as it did the other night when the Rangers dismantled Pittsburgh 5-1. Look for Kreider, who’s underpriced to come up big on Tuesday.
