Overview

There are four games in the NHL on Wednesday with some high-power offenses including the Maple Leafs, Avalanche, and Penguins in action. As the trade deadline is behind and the Stanley Cup playoffs inch closer, a lot of these teams are going to kick things into high gear. Auston Matthews is back after a two-game suspension looking to add to his 46-goal campaign, Nathan MacKinnon is riding a four-game point streak, and Patrick Kane looks to keep piling up the points as he had multiple points in five of his last nine games and at least one point in eight of his last nine contests.

Key Skaters

W Patrick Kane (CHI)

Kane and the Blackhawks are certainly just playing out the string at this point as they sit ranked 14th in the Western Conference and they will be taking on the Anaheim Ducks, another team on the outside of the playoff picture looking in. Kane is priced at just $6,400 making him just the 12th-highest priced skater on tonight’s four-game slate. In my mind that’s simply to cheap for a skater that’s been recording at least a point seemingly every night (multiple points in five of his last nine) against a team that has lost seven straight allowing four or more goals in five of those losses.

C Auston Matthews (TOR)

Mentioned above, Matthews is back after missing two games and prior to his absence, he was on a mission. AM34 has at least one goal in each of his last six games played with a total of nine goals over that span. The Devils had a monster night last night against the Rangers who simply did not come to play winning 7-4. However, New Jersey had allowed six goals in each of their three games prior; all road affairs which will be the case when they travel to Toronto tonight.
