NBA DFS DROPPIN DIMES-Thursday, FEBRUARY 24th

Looking at an 7-game slate starting at 7:00pm

The “Droppin Dimes,” article will go over my favorite plays for the slate. It will consist of three to five core plays  along with some additional plays and some value plays. You will not always see the highest-priced players or the most obvious plays. The article will be the building blocks to help construct lineup/s.

(Note: All pricing and fantasy points are based on DraftKings but can be used for all sites.)

Always keep an eye on the status of players before lock, especially now. There are still a decent number of players with questionable tags.

NOTES

I will post any updates in Discord prior to lock.

CORE

Trendon Watford, PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS ($3400)

Watford should pick up the start tonight as the Blazers will be without their starting center Jusif Nukic. He has seen and increase in minutes as of late with all of the trades and injuries that the Blazers are dealing with. Watford has shown some upside in a few games when playing over 20 minutes, which he should see tonight. I am expecting him to start and play around 30 minutes against a much faster paced Warriors team where he should see some upside.

[spacer height=”20px”]

Rajon Rondo, CLEVELAND CAVALIERS ($3900)
The Cavs are without Darius Garland tonight and this will open up around 35 minutes and some usage.  He is averaging a FPPM on the season and has played solid minutes when Garland has been out. I am expecting Brandon Goodwin to start and Rondo to come off the bench, but I do expect him to play around 25-30 minutes. In an excellent matchup against the Pistons Rondo may only need 20 minutes to hit value, so anything over that would be a plus.
[spacer height=”20px”]
Danilo Gallinari,  Atlanta Hawks ($4400)
Gallo started last game and should see the start again tonight with John Collins out again. Over the past two games, Gallo has averaged 39 minutes and 25 FPs scoring double-digit points in both games. The Bulls are ranked 20th in defensive efficiency and 23rd against opposing power forwards and this will give Gallo more opportunity to score and pick up a few additional rebounds. I expect him to come in around 30 plus FPs tonight.
[spacer height=”20px”]
Cade Cunningham, DETROIT PISTONS ($6600)
Cunningham’s price has come down to 6.6k from over 8K earlier this month. He continues to take a ton of shots and is a good rebounding guard that can push 10 plus assists with the ability to hit a triple-double. Also, he hit 59.5 FPs against the Cavaliers earlier this year. Good time to take advantage of his lower price.

Dimes Play

James Johnson-  is only $3500 and has played a larger role for the Nets as of late. He has started a few games and could start again tonight with the Nets short-handed. Upside of over 30 FPs.
