NBA DFS DROPPIN DIMES-Wednesday, FEBRUARY 2nd

Looking at an 9-game slate starting at 7pm.

The “Droppin Dimes,” article will go over my favorite plays for the slate. It will consist of three to five core plays  along with some additional plays and some value plays. You will not always see the highest-priced players or the most obvious plays. The article will be the building blocks to help construct lineup/s.

Always keep an eye on the status of players before lock, especially now. There are still a decent number of players with questionable tags.

NOTES
  • Highest total games- Kings/Nets (232.5), Magic/Pacers (224.5) and Hornets/Celtics (224.5)\
  • Fastest Pace games- Lakers/Blazers and Kings/Nets
  • Lakers/Blazers game does not have one of the highest totals, but it will run at a fast pace and both teams in bottom 10 defensively.

CORE

Malik Monk, LA LAKERS ($5300)

Monk has been one of the key players as of late for the Lakers and especially when one of the big three are out. LeBron James is listed as doubtful, so we could see Monk start again an play 30 plus minutes against one of the worst defensive teams this year the Trail Blazers. On the season, Monk is averaging 26 minutes and 23 FPs (.9 FPPM).  He has pushed 40 or more FPs in four of the last 12 games with a high of 57.5 last game against the Hawks. Taking double-digit shots and over ten 3-point attempts in two of the last three games while rebounding the ball well and adding in a some assists. Excellent spot tonight at a reduced price for Monk.

Isaiah Jackson, INDIANA PACERS ($5400)
The Pacers will once again be without Sabonis, Bitadze and possible Brissett opening up another start for Jackson. He has played well over the past three games averaging 24 minutes and 1.44 FPPM in that timeframe. Usage rate has been well over 20% over the past six games and has shown double-double upside with increased minutes. An excellent matchup against the Magic who rank 29th against opposing power forwards. This should be another good night for Jackson.

Marquese Chriss, DALLAS MAVERICKS ($3000)
Chriss has seen 16 and 20 minutes over the last two games with Porzingas out and put up 24 and 32.5 FPs respectively with 8 and 10 times value in those games. On the season, he is averaging 1.25 FPPM and does not need much time on the court to hit and exceed value at on 3K. Also, this is an elite matchup tonight against the Thunder who all the 3rd most FPs to power forwards. Coming in with the 2nd highest usage on the team with Hardaway and Porzingas off the floor gives him a good chance crush value tonight especially if he can come close to 20 minutes.

Cedi Osman, CLEVELAND CAVALIERS ($4600)
Osman has been running the point with Darius Garland now out. The Cavaliers have lost  a fair amount of their guards this year. Over the last three games, Osman has played over 34 minutes in two of the three and exceeded value in both of those games. Last game, he put up 27 FPs on a 3-16 shooting night. This is an elite spot for the Cavaliers and Osman tonight in this pace up matchup against the Rockets who have been one/if not the worst defensive teams. The fact he has the ball in his hands running the point gives him an upside with assists. He comes in as the highest rated player on the FB model tonight with a projection of 32 FP and upside of 39. I do see his ownership coming in on the higher side, but this is too good of a spot to pass up.

  • Luka Doncic- 40% usage with Porzingas and Hardaway off the floor.
  • Bojan Bogdanovic-33% usage with Mitchell, Whiteside, Ingles and Gobert off the floor. Mike Conley comes in 2nd.
  • Jaylen Brown- 2nd highest ranked player on the FB model.
  • Will Barton
  • James Harden

(V) Value Play

Also consider: Marcus Smart- playing well and plays well in fast paced games, Brandon Goodwin(V),  Mike Conley, Spencer Dinwiddie

 

Also consider:  CJ McCollum, Josh Green (DAL)(V),   Chris Duarte

Also consider: Jeremy Lamb-(V) playing minutes and has the upside in this matchup,  Josh Richardson,(V) Lu Dort,

Also consider: Jason Tatum, Torrey Craig(V), Kevin Love,  Stanley Johnson(V)- playing 25 plus minutes.

Also consider: Maxi Kleber(V),  Nikola Jokic,Montrezl Harrell(V), Blake Griffin(V)

Dimes Play

Eric Paschall– should see a bump in minutes tonight with both Rudy Gobert and Hassan Whiteside out. He has been playing around 20 plus minutes a game over the past four with a few games with 20 plus usage. A bare minimum play on DK that should do well enough to pay off his salary (15 DK to hit value) with upside well over 20 FPs.
