Key Skaters

W Filip Forsberg (NSH)

• The Predators travel to the desert to take on the Coyotes who are actually coming off of a 6-4 win but are still one of the worst defensive teams in the league. Forsberg comes in hot with five goals in his last five games with four or more shots in two of his last three games. With a great matchup, Forsberg comes in at a great value as the 12th-highest priced winger on the slate.

C Tomas Hertl (SJ)

• The Flyers continue to have the highest expected goals against per 60 rate at 5v5 with a mark of 2.81. Hertl has points in four of his last five games seeing at least 19 minutes of ice time in each contest. It still odd to me to see the Flyers playing so poorly defensively, especially up the middle but that’s where we are and the way it’s been all season. Hertl finds himself at just $6,500 – a good price in a great matchup.

C Nathan MacKinnon (COL)

• Colorado is red-hot right now scoring four, four, and seven goals in their last three games and MacKinnon is coming off a five-point effort with eight shots. This should be a fun affair with the Avs hosting the Leafs and one that has plenty of scoring chances on both sides. Despite how well Jack Campbell has played this season I like MacKinnon to find some space and perform here.

Nashville Predators

Mikael Granlund, Filip Forsberg, Matt Duchene

• With a great matchup on the horizon, the Predators top line offers a ton of promise and upside, even on the road. All three skaters here correlate on the top power-play line along with the top even-strength line offering full correlation against a team that takes a lot of penalties and does not kill penalties well.

Vegas Golden Knights

William Karlsson, Jonathan Marchessault, Reilly Smith, Shea Theodore

• The Blackhawks’ performance the other night was incredibly telling – specifically how vulnerable they can be defensively, in this case against the Coyotes. Now, the Golden Knights are much better offensively just from a talent standpoint than the Coyotes and if the Blackhawks play the same way that they did the other night they will be wiped up and down the ice. This trio (Karlsson, Marchessault, Smith) skates together at even strength and on the top power-play unit along with defenseman Shea Theodore who has at least four shots on goal in four straight games with a goal and an assist over that span.
