The “Droppin Dimes,” article will go over my favorite plays for the slate. It will consist of three to five core plays along with a few additional plays and a few value plays. You won’t always see the highest-priced players or the most obvious plays. Players listed first at each position are my favorite and a good start to build a lineup around.
(Note: All pricing and fantasy points are based on DraftKings but can be used for all sites.)
Keep an eye on the injury status of players as they can be ruled out right before lock.

Blazers/Kings- both teams in bottom 5 defensively.
Pacers/Lakers

Magic get a pace boost and Hornets rank 24th in defensive efficiency.
Spurs play te Hawks who rank 27th in defensive efficiency.
If/Then….(Injury scenarios)
IF Jalen Brown sits out then I like Marcus Smart even more, Jason Tatum become viable.
IF Tobias Harris sits out then Georges Nieng is a good value.

Dejounte Murray, San Antonio Spurs ($9600)
Murray has been playing at an elite level as of late with 2 triple doubles in the last 4 games and just missed another by 1 assist. He continue to play big minutes averaging 35 per game and has hit 37 or more in 3 of the last 4. Also in that timeframe, Murray has taken over 20 shots in 3 of 4 games and put up 20 or more real points in 2 of those 4. Love this spot for him tonight against the Hawks who rank 27th in defensive efficiency. This should also be a fast pace contest where Murray has another opportunity for a triple-double. The best part is his ownership is usually on the lower side.

Value: Jalen Suggs, Corey Joseph
Chris Duarte, Indiana Pacers ($4100)
The Pacers get a masive bump in pace tonight against one of the fastest teams in the league the Lakers. Also, the Lakers have been a poor defensive team and one I have been targeting most of the season due to the fast pace and lack of defense. Duarte sat out a few games and has been eased back in playing around 20 minutes a night and still getting his double-digit shot attempts up. His price has come down to a point where he in viable again. It is possible he slides back into the starting lineup soon and starts playing 30 minutes again. Either way, this is a good spot for him tonight against the faster paced Lakers where he should put up 20 plus real points with some peripheral stats to exceed value.

Value: RJ Hampton, Hamidou Diallo
Franz Wagner, Orlando Magic ($3900)
Wagner was playing over 30 minutes a game prior to the last two games against the Bucks where he only played in the low 20s. These 2 games were a poor performance by Wagner only scoring 6 FPs in each game. The Magic are still without Cole Anthony and possible Gary Harris and this give Wagner an opportunity to get a few more shots up and pick up some more usage. His price has come down under 4k and no better time to buy in with a game against the faster paced Hornets who rank 24th in defensive efficiency. This is just what Wagner needs to get back on track.

Value: Devin Vassell, Kevin Huerter, Cody Martin
Harrison Barnes, Sacramento Kings ($6200)
Barnes started out the season on fire averaging over 2 real points and close to 40 FPs, but has come down a bit as of late. A few reasons why I like him tonight- one, this should be a faster paced game with a close spread. Two, the Blazers have been one of the worst teams in defensive efficiency this year ranking 26th. Also, they rank dead last against opposing PFs. This is a good spot for Barnes to have a game with 40 FP upside.

Value: Jarred Vanderbilt, James Johnson
Luka Garza, Detroit Pistons ($3000)
The Pistons will be without Isaiah Stewart again tonight as he is serving the second game of his 2-game suspension. Last night, Garza started for Stewart and player 17 minutes. He started out on fire and quickly got into foul trouble which limited his minutes. The kid is talented and still learning the NBA and I like this spot for him tonight as he should start again. This is also a better spot as the Bucks run at a faster pace and are not as good defensively as the Heat. I do think he has double-double upside if he can play around 25-30 minutes and this would depend on his foul situation. Also, I do think he will get run if/when this game blows out. Best part is he is only 3K and could return 7-9 times value at minimum cost.
