NBA DROPPING DIMES-Friday, November 5th

Tonight brings a 9 game  slate starting at 7p.m. ET.

The “Droppin Dimes,” article will go over my favorite plays for the slate. It will consist of three to five core plays  along with a few additional plays and a few value plays. You won’t always see the highest-priced players or the most obvious plays. Players listed first at each position are my favorite and a good start to build a lineup around.

(Note: All pricing and fantasy points are based on DraftKings but can be used for all sites.)

Keep an eye on the injury status of players as they can be ruled out right before lock.

Game/s to Target

Hornets/Kings game will be face paced and both teams rank in bottom 10 in defense efficiency.

Pacers/Blazers

NOTES:

FPPM= Fantasy Points Per Minute, FPPG= Fantasy Points Per Game, PPG=Points per Game, Value=Projected points/salary(This will differ depending on the site).

Patrick Beverly, Minnesota Timberwolves ($4000/$5000)

Pat Bev was a core play for me the other night and he payed off putting up 36.5 FPs at 3.7K (9.9 times return). Russeel is still out and his price barely moved in this matchup.  Give me all the Pat Bev on DK at this price. Playing at a high level this year just missing a triple-double last game and averaging 1.2 FPPM.  Beverly should come in with lower ownership with Cunningham in a similar price range. As I think Cunningham is a solid play I am primarily going to Beverly for the consistency.  They can be played together on DK if you choose.

Also consider: Damian Lillard- is starting to put it together this year. Still taking a ton of shots and more and more are falling. Big game coming soon. Love the matchup against the Pacers, Dejounte Murray- put up one triple-double this year and missed a few more times, De’Aaron Fox nothing like a fast pace and lack of defense game to get Fox going.

Value: Cade Cunningham, Tyus Jones, Davion Mitchell

Devin Vassell, San Antonio Spurs ($3900/$5400) DK PLAY

Vassell has played over 20 minutes in all but one game and has played over 27 in the past two games. He is taking double digit shots and has been a key part of the Spurs offense this year, especially as of late.  Tonight, the Spurs get an elite matchup against the one of the worst defenses in the league the Magic. At his current price, Vassell has met or exceeded value in 4 of the past 5 games and should do so again tonight in this matchup.

Also consider: Bradley Beal, Terry Rozier

Value: Lonnie Walker IV, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cody Martin

Caris LeVert, Indiana Pacers ($6800/$7000)

The price on LeVert is coming down as his minutes and production are on the rise. This is the best time to buy in on LeVert. Averaging close to 20 shots per game over the past two with 29 and 39.5 FPs respectively and these were to tougher matchups. Tonight, the Pacers will play the Blazers who rank 22nd in defensive efficiency and this is slated to be a faster paced high scoring game. A good spot for LeVert to put up 24/6/8 spot with a few defensive stats for a 40 plus FP night. Yeah Buddy!

Also consider: Miles Bridges, Norman Powell

Value: Malik Beasley, Cedi Osman

Jarred Vanderbilt, Minnesota Timberwolves ($3600/$4700) DK PLAY

It looks like Vanderbilt is back a key part of the Timberwolves rotation playing 29 and 27 minutes in the past two games. In that time-frame, Vanderbilt has hit double digit points and averaged 8 rebounds. The Wolves play the Clippers again tonight where he took 13 shots, scored 13 points and grabbed 8 boards for a total of 24 FPs.  A nice value that could return 7-8 times value tonight.

Also consider: Harrison Barnes,  Giannis Antetokounmpo

Value: Keldom Johnson, Deni Avdija, Bobby Portis

Jarrett Allen, Cleveland Cavaliers ($6600/$7500)

Allen put up 2 monster games back-to-back with his increased minutes  (24/17 and 24/16)  The Cavaliers are still without Kevin Love and Lauri Markkanan which is the main reason Allen has played 35 and 40  minutes respectively in those two games. He had similar games last year when he played over 30 minutes.

Also consider: Richaun Holmes,  Mo Bamba, Myles Turner

Value: Isaiah Stewart,  Drew Eubanks, Ivaca Zubac

CORE PLAYS

  • Pat Beverly- yes again
  • Caris LeVert
  • Jarrett Allen

Dimes Play(GPP Play of the Night) Under 5k Player with low ownership and upside

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope– has been taking double-digit shot attempts and scored over  20 FPs in 3 of the last 4 games. KCP will be on the floor a good amount due to his defense and he should be able to let his 3 ball fly tonight against the Grizzles who are the worst defensive team on the slate. They also allow the 5th most 3-pointers. A good night for KCP to put up 8-10 times value.

**Options to help build lineups- Take these core plays and enter into optimizer with your favorite setting(rating, FBrating, FBprojections, FunkProjections, ownership or ratings).
