The NHL trade deadline is here and there will certainly be quite a few moves made today (or so I suspect that to happen). So keep an eye on the lines for tonights games. Today has a fairly large slate with 8 games on it.
TODAYS STACKS
WINNIPEG JETS
Scheifele – Connor – Kopp – Morrissey
Winnipeg is on a roll right now and have scored at least 4 goals in every game but once against the Senators this season. The wingers should have a great game tonight vs the Senators and if you wanted to play a heavy Winnipeg stack with extra wingers that would make a lot of sense today.
TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS
Matthews – Marner – Galchenyuck
How bad are the Canadiens right now? Things just aren’t going well and I got burned being too cute using their goalie (Allen) the other night. I won’t make the same mistake and expect another 4 goal game from the Leafs today. Galchy is a top value play on the entire slate if he sticks on the top line at $3,600.
SAN JOSE SHARKS
Couture – Labanc – Kane
Two bad teams meet up and it’s the young guys vs the old guys. With the Sharks being at home and just being a more seasoned team I would trust them even on deadline night.
The other games, which I am not stacking from:
- Detroit v Carolina: High scoring game the other night, I expect this one to come back to being a tighter 3-1 type Carolina win. Shutout chances are high here IMO for Mrazek.
- Chicago vs Columbus: Should be another back and forth game today, good for picking up some one offs.
- Blues vs Wild: I can’t trust either team consistently to be a stack play, nor can I trust the goalies here.
- Coyotes vs Avs: Colorado is on a B2B, but at home. Fade of the night
- Vegas vs Kings: Vegas LW (Patches and Marchessault) makes a ton of sense here, but I’d rather have exposure in the Hawks/Jackets game again.
KEY ONE OFFS
Brayden Schenn – St Louis
Patrick Kane – Chicago – The Hawks/Jackets game is back and it was good the other night up to 7 goals. More choices today that stand out but I like another high scoring affair between these clubs today.
Paul Stastny – Winnipeg – A nice value and a good 4th or 5th player on a full Winnipeg stack tonight
Andrei Svechkinov – Carolina
Patrik Laine – Columbus

Below are the teams and the top D-man from each team that I would use today. If you need $ then consider a value D-Man from any of the four teams below.

- Hurricanes: Dougie Hamilton
- Sharks: Erik Karlsson (Cheaper than Burns)
- Jets: Josh Morrissey
- Blues: Justin Faulk

Petr Mrazek (Carolina)

LINE LOCK OF THE NIGHT: Scheifele – Connor – Copp
