The Slapshot – Thu, March 11th

What you need to know

Only one game tonight is featuring a team from last night (Montreal) and they are playing Calgary after a late game vs Vancouver last night.  A good nugget found by one of our Discord users (JoeyRivaldo) found out that teams playing on B2B against teams not off B2B have been struggling to win a lot.  So I think this should be weighed heavily when it comes to picking a goalie.

STACKS

Washington Capitals vs Philadelphia Flyers

Nick Backstrom – Alex Ovechkin – TJ Oshie

Kevin Hayes – Travis Konecny – Ivan Provorov

If you like building more than one line-up you should start with this game and build out about three lineups.  The first two lineups would be heavy skater exposure on both sides in the game with the third being a Brian Elliot hedge play.  That said, my overall play here is the over and while TJ Oshie is surely to be very popular here at $4900, the must own for Washington is Ovechkin.  He hasn’t had that massive Ovi style game yet this year and Philly isn’t doing great in terms of Penalty Kill.  Ovi should have 2 PP goals tonight and I’m calling the hatty third in a 5-4 final score.

Pittsburgh Penguins

Sidney Crosby – Jake Guentzel – Bryan Rust … or Malkin/Rodrigues

Well, this is akward.  The Sabres have been an automatic lock at giving up goals to LW and overall they just do not have any way of keeping up with the Penguins if Pittsburgh wants to get their groove on and actually pad some stats against what is an AHL-level team right now for Buffalo.  So basically go Guentzel and that Little B**** Crosby or lock in Malkin to get right here as a one off for the Penguins.  They are priced up so they’re not necessarily a must play on a 10 game slate, but consider this the one time this season I write up the Penguins.

Calgary Flames

Sean Monahan – Johnny Gaudreau – Rasmus Andersson (PP Stack)
