The Dongers Club – Mon, 9/21

There are only six games on FanDuel tonight and eight games on DraftKings which is locking a little bit earlier.  There’s no weather concerns either, which is good.  The following games are only available on DraftKings tonight because they lock before 7PM. This final week of the MLB season is not the best of spots to be going in deep into DFS, but if we aren’t lazy we might have an edge.  I personally think teams who are in the playoffs don’t care much about home and away advantage as it only applies in the first round.  They’ll want to be rested with their bullpen and starting rotation with almost no days off once the playoffs begin.  So it’s all about motivation for betting/DFS purposes this week. Yankees at Blue Jays — The Yankees have clinched, Jays need a win. Brewers at Reds — Both teams are tied and right in the mix for the final wild card spots. Rest of the slate: Cubs at Pirates — Cubs are in, Pirates are out Marlins at Braves — Marlins need this more than Atlanta Rays at Mets — Rays are secure, Mets have outside longshot Cardinasl at Royals — Cardinals are alive, Royals are not. Astros at Mariners — Astros need it unless they just want to fade away into the sunset of the offseason.  Mariners are pretty much dead Rockies at Giants — Rockies need a prayer like the Mets, Giants are in their path.     Jacob deGrom The Mets still have an outside shot of getting into the playoffs since other teams are potentially beating up on each other this week and while they face the best team in the AL (Tampa Bay), they’re getting them at the exact right time.  deGrom should have a fantastic outing tonight and won’t burn you. Lance McCullers Jr. Seattle has greatly dropped off offensively of late and is back to a team that should be picked on.  The Astros are desperate to get this over with one way or another.  So either they try to sneak in to defend themselves as American League Champions or they fade off.  But honestly, that’s going to be on the hitters and not Lance.   Also of slight interest on DraftKings:   Johnny Cueto   Miami Marlins Corey Dickerson, Starling Marte Sticking with a theory that cold weather games are best to be avoided we’re looking…...
