The Dongers Club – 9/29- Wild Card

WEATHER All Clear   One of the keys I always lean on in MLB playoff DFS is can the pitcher get the team the win.  Any of these guys that the lesser teams trot out who likely have a quick hook aren’t really tempting to me — even as value plays.  But the flip side is a close game often means the win chances go down.  Chris Sale against Jesus Luzardo (Opening with Painter behind) is one of those spots where I would lean on Atlanta winning because the Phils offense is absolutely inept right now.  Yet, it’s really just a game that I’ve got the preferred path of avoiding for offense entirely and so that’s one benefit to just taking Luzardo there. Cam Schlittler (DK: $9600):  Boston vs New York is the other UNDER game I’m building around for pitching today.  So its basically pick any 4 combination from these two games.  My preference will be with Cam and Jesus. Peyton Tolle (DK: $8800)   DROPPING Jesus Luzardo (DK: $7700):  They’re saying he will be an opener with Painter coming in after, so that drops him down significantly in my playoff rule theory, but I really think he pitches well to get through 3 or 4 innings.     CUBS vs PADRES So long as there isn’t some wild 10-7 game earlier in the day you at least have the comfort of being all in on the last game tonight if you do stack this one — which is where I think we all should be at.  Matt Boyd should get through the first inning, but beyond that it’s gonna be a short hook for him.  Plus the Cubs bullpen is their achillies heel still in my mind – so lets see how they navigate around that.
