The Dongers Club – 9/30 – Wild Card

WEATHER All Clear     This is a much cleaner pitching slate with established starters.  Something to factor in today is that you’re getting the hitters shaking off some rust from the end of season and then Monday being off for everyone into yesterday wanting to be more confident & thus I think we see them being a little too aggressive at times in their approach.  Especially the teams who lost and are in elimination games today.  That said, the upside could be tremendous by doing that. Max Fried (DK: $8300):  The thing the Yankees have done all season?  They’ve pitched.  And Boston’s offense has really gone dormant.  We’ll see how they decide to attack Fried but if Rafaela/Adley do not get it done then this game is over and they’re dead. Hunter Brown (DK: $8700):  They might let him throw 120 pitches today. Cristopher Sanchez (DK: $9700):  He’s gonna pitch well.  Not sure the price point here is worth the squeeze.  But if you can, it’s a good play for certain.     PADRES They’re absolutely on fire and playing with a ton of confidence.  Thank you for coming Chicago, see you next April on a Friday at 2:20 PM EST. Manny Machado Fernando Tatis Jackson Merrill   ONE OFFS This then becomes a big one off slate after one core team.   See below in the positional breakdown.     CATCHER Just take whatever is cheap here, however Kyle Teel at $3300 is in a good lineup spot if Chicago can somehow get Antonacci on and in scoring position ahead of him.  Otherwise punt the position and hope for the best.  Ben Rice is better at 1B.   FIRST BASE Kyle Schwarber:  Fine moving to OF.  The Phillies.  Let me be very fucking clear on this.  The Phillies have ZERO.  Z-E-R-O.  ZERO POINT ZERO shot of winning today if Schwarber does not homer.  Plain and simple.  I dont give a fuck what they do out of the bullpen.  If Schwarber cannot homer off Mahle.  Goodnight.  The good news is, back to back games with a hit, and some walks.  He’s showing signs of waking back up.
