Sunday Dongers Club – August 30th

I know you guys think I am losing my mind and getting old because I often just throw up content with the wrong date on the title.  But, listen, my brain is a little complicated – okay?  However, why are we done with NFL pre-season and we now have two more weeks before an actual regular season game?  Maybe the last time August 31st was to fall on a Monday was a leap year, because this weekend just feels like Labor Day weekend and the end of MLB Sunday’s and the start of Fall Football. But, alas, you have one more week of MLB Sunday content left.  I guess it’s just me, but it feels very strange.   WEATHER All clear   This is certainly a top heavy slate with Tyler Glasnow being the best overall option on paper – but in just a second start off the long IL stint he probably (definitely) is limited – so why pay a premium for that.  The other guys I am going to take a pass on include Parker Messick and Braxton Ashcraft. LOGAN GILBERT (DK: $9900) The Jays will feel like a minor league team compared to the last two spots Gilbert had to deal with.  He’s gonna get through the first two innings cleanly today and then start thinking about going 8 or even 9 full.  A shutdown spot, 8 strikeouts, no walks.  Smooth sailing. ZEBBY MATTHEWS (DK: $5600) Why is Matthews only $5600?  What the **** is going on here?  I assume the DK pricing algo basically just got turned off and has not been adjusting in season beacuse Matthew’s had one bad (alright, horrific) month in July but has been back to very good in his last 5 starts.  So he had one game in Wrigley that got inflated.  Big deal.  Chicago’s got Benintendi as a threat here in Target Field and that’s fine, but man this is a steal of a price for someone who is gonna give you 6 innings no more than 3 ER and has 8-10 K upside. SUNDAY SLEEPER Mason Adams (DK: $7400):  We’ll probably consider the Braves as a stack, but when you smell a 3-1 get away game you just run away.  This game smells like that big time.  Adams has good zone command, a good curve ball and hasn’t really been tarnished by pitching in Coors yet to ruin the…...
