Fairly large but not too big Tuesday night slate today with eight games and a nice balance of team skill level.
OILERS
McDavid – Hyman – Nugent-Hopkins
Easily the best game on the slate and the way Toronto is giving up goals of late (13 over their last 3) we should be looking to ride that wave with the fast moving Oilers.
CAPITALS
Strome – Pacioretty – Oshie
Washington appears back to their low scoring ways but they have also had some tough defensive draws of late, so seeing the Ducks in town will likely give them a necessary boost. Ovi is expected out again, which just makes their top line even more chalky as a value pick.
STARS
Hintz – Pavelski – Robertson
Much like the Canucks on Monday losing in Columbus, the Kings come in ending up a long road trip to start January, having played five straight on the road and struggling losing the first four before a big win in Carolina yesterday 5-2. Now on a B2B in Dallas before going home I think they’ll keep it close but fail to shut down the Stars top line all game.
JETS
Lowry – Vilardi – Ehlers – Morrissey
Winnipeg is holding on to the lead in the Western Division, but is going to fall back to earth and without Scheifele and Connor they’re definitely weaker. But tonight the Isles are in town and if both Scheifele and Connor remain out we get a big value boost for the Jets top line. Overall, Morrissey is the favorite play, he should continue to see a boost in offensive usage.
