The Dongers Club – 8/30 – MAIN

MAIN SLATE tonight.

WEATHER

All clear

The path to fading Coors Field tonight has nothing to do with leverage or any other bullshit.  It’s simply paying up for your pitching which folks in Coors should not be able to do.

Gerrit Cole (DK: $11,500, FD: $11,100)

Yeah, so Cole got lit up last year in Detroit.  Don’t give a shit, that’s not something that will translate over here.

Jesus Luzardo (DK: $9,200, FD: $9,600)

Obviously a combination of Cole and Jesus is an immediate fade of Atlanta against Kyle Freeland in Coors Field.  A lot of this for me is weighted by the fact that the cheap pitching tonight is not what it has been the last two nights.

Brandon Pfaadt (DK: $6500, FD: $5800)

He is the best cheap option because of the K% arsenal he can deliver with.   At home vs the Dodgers on August 8th he showed some of that upside with 5K over 4 2/3 IP, a similar line in L.A. today may not be enough, but among the punt/cheap options with upside he is the best one.

New York Yankees

Gleyber Torres, Aaron Judge, DJ LeMahieu

No, I did not go out drinking for lunch – but I kinda wish I had.  Love the Yanks.

Texas Rangers

Corey Seager, Nate Lowe, Adolis Garcia, Jonah Heim

Now here is a consideration on leverage.  Game log watchers will trust the 4k punt Denyi Reyes to roll out a Braves full stack in Coors today – I don’t love Atlanta and I love the high end SP.  Plus the Rangers just cannot stay this ice cold forever.

Kansas City Royals / Pittsburgh Pirates

Bobby Witt/MJ Melendez, KeBryan Hayes/Ji Hwan Bae

CATCHER

  1. Jonah Heim
  2. Sean Murphy
  3. Gabriel Moreno

FIRST BASE

Chasing DJ who has had some good match-ups of late, but obviously his old ass isn’t gonna break a slate himself.  At 3900 though I can take another shot considering he has the third highest combined weighted xSLG on pitchtypes vs Wentz tonight

  1. DJ LeMahieu
  2. Nate Lowe
  3. Pete Alonso

SECOND BASE

  1. Gleyber Torres
  2. Ozzie Albies
  3. Ji hwan Bae

THIRD BASE

Muncy has been hitting great of late and finally doing more than just hitting homers, but tonight against Pfaadt the matchup is very favorable for a HR.  Pfaadt is a good cheap option because he can get some strikeouts vs the Dodgers, the downside though is the long ball here.

  1. Max Muncy
  2. Jake Burger
  3. KeBryan Hayes

SHORTSTOP

It has been a little too long since we had that big Witt Jr. game, the majority of the power against Pirates RHP Andre Jackson has come from fellow RHH.  I like Witt to get on, steal and have a nice Acuna type game tonight.

  1. Bobby Witt Jr.
  2. Corey Seager

OUTFIELD – Mt. Rushmore

  1. Harrison Bader
  2. Adolis Garcia
  3. Jazz Chisholm Jr
  4. MJ Melendez

  1. DJ LeMahieu – 1B – NY Yankees – Chairman of The Dongers Club
  2. Adolis Garcia – OF – Rangers
  3. Bobby Witt – SS – Royals
  4. Jazz Chisholm – OF – Marlins
