Nice to be back into a regular rotation on these NHL slates and we are getting close to the prime NHL DFS donkey season when all the NBA money goes away and the prize pools get bigger next week. So right now is a key time to get locked in on hockey.
We do need to keep an eye out for NHL trades though as players will be late scratches in some spots or just be sitting out all together while the NHL trade deadline approaches.

It’s going to appear as if I am writing up some ‘bad’ teams tonight. Well, I am. But that’s more from a stack perspective and there’s plenty of big name one offs that you can pair with these cheaper line stacks.
CANADIENS
Suzuki, Anderson, Harvey-Pinard, Matheson
Cheap and dirty. That describes this Montreal stack as best as I can think. The Blackhawks certainly give up their fair share of SOG against and have a generous PK unit as well which could help this poor PP unit correlation.
Harvey-Pinard, aka Lee Harvey Oswald, and Anderson are very cheap and have high Goal upside tonight – so sorry in advance for whomever the Sens put in goal
ISLANDERS
Horvat, Bailey, Barzal
I talked about how some trades give a spark to a team and others send them into a funk. In the case of the Islanders there’s no denying that Horvat has given them a spark but then when you weren’t scoring at all before hand it’s hard to go into a funk.
The Senators have been EXTREMELY generous to opposing centers over the last few weeks and Horvat’s been shooting it enough that he should be able to produce at his 7600 salary and setup his linemates as well.
PANTHERS vs BLUES
PANTHERS vs BLUESFLA – Bennett, Tkachuk
STL – Thomas, Schenn, Kyrou, Krug
I would advise to be cautious with just blindly going the Panthers. Yeah, they look great on paper against the lowly Blues however on a B2B I suspect they get out worked by St. Louis on the road. Look for Krug or Faulk to have big games for the Blues as well.
Other game notes
Carolina @ Washington …
The Caps are struggling on home ice lately and their nemesis Sebastian Aho comes in to continue that trend. But the Hurricanes correlation is yucky with Burns on PP2 and as usual Aho/Svechnikov being on different 5v5 lines. I see this being a 4-2 game where Carolina scores an ENG late in a win and you could pluck some one offs here. MoJo scores for Washington.
Pittsburgh @ San Jose ….
Penguins win and that’s hard for me to say as you know, but they win comfortably in my mind. Much like Carolina though it’s gonna be spread out.
