NHL DFS – The Slapshot
Big hockey week for NHL teams. There’s 8 tonight, 8 tomorrow, 7 Wednesday, 8 Thursday and then 11 on Friday before the NHL takes a break for Christmas.
There is some good value out there and some expensive stacks in good spots tonight. So that’s how it sets up on this 8 game slate.
BRUINS
Florida has taken the third most penalties on the season only trailing the lowly Ducks and Coyotes. That’s bad and that’s a bad combination when going against Boston on home ice. I think there’s still too much weight being put on the Panthers good season a year ago but they’re just not that good and over the last month have been bottom third against everything — even with Barkov back in the lineup and he is OUT tonight. Giddy up Bruins…

OILERS
Edmonton is back in town vs the Predators and they came through just last week with a 6-3 win in this same meeting. I don’t see a ton changing here other than Nashville maybe playing a little bit better to warrant a game stack. But this one is pricey.

- NSH – Johansen – Forsberg – Josi
OTHER GOOD LINES TO LOOK AT
- Capitals: Kuznetsov – Mantha – Milano
- Golden Knights: Stephenson – Stone – Kessel

- Connor McDavid … Yes, there are some value options at C tonight, but then there is McDavid getting a 3 point night and why not?
- Patrice Bergeron … Only high $ pivot that I really like besides CMcD

WINGS
- David Pastrnak … Can’t argue with Pastrnak when considering a STUD to carry your lineup with a multi-goal game. Either ride Bostons PP1 unit or go leverage with Fla Goalie (Knight) and pray.

My Pick …
Karel Vejmelka (Coyotes) … Montreal has 8 goals over their last 5 games. COMBINED. The ‘yotes offer the chance to get more SOG but likely still struggle to actually have an explosion game. Karen’s safe tonight.
Other Choices
Charlie Lindgren (Capitals) … Hard to pay 8400 for a Caps goalie as they dont give up many SOG, but I like his chances to get a nice clean 4-1 win.
Elvis Merzilikins (Blue Jackets) .. The Stars are on a lenghty road trip in which over the last 3 they have posted 38, 46 and 36 shot attempts while not scoring more than 4. Yeah, they probably score 3 here, but sub 7k and lots of SOG are not a bad mix.
