NBA DFS DROPPIN DIMES-Friday, October 21st

The NBA season is back! New season and we have a fair number of players that have changed teams along with some new additions (rookies) coming along. I am happy NBA is back and glad.

NBA Dashboard is also another good source to help build lineups.

Looking at a 11-game slate starting at 7:00pm

The “Droppin Dimes,” article will go over my favorite plays for the slate. It will consist of three to five core plays along with some additional plays and some value plays. You will not always see the highest-priced players or the most obvious plays. The article will be the building blocks to help construct lineup/s.

NBA Dashboard is also another good source to help build lineups. Check it out here – DailyAmbush: NBA Dashboard

The Dashboard will provide projections, player ratings along with matchup and other statistics for both Ambush and me (under FB Model). The dashboard feeds the optimizer allowing users to create lineups using (Avg FPs, Ratings, FB Projections, FB Ratings, projected ownership and GPP score). This is a good tool to utilize, and it gives the user a lot of ways to mix it up.

Always keep an eye on the status of players before lock, especially now. There are still a decent number of players with questionable tags.

NOTES

[spacer height=”20px”]

CORE

Santi Aldama, INDIANA PACERS ($5000)

Aldama won the starting power forward job during preseason and did not disappoint in his first start of the season. He played 39 minutes, which is one of the reasons I am looking at him tonight. In those 39 minutes, Aldama took 14 shots hitting seven and grabbed 11 rebounds. Also adding one assist, steal and block. As mentioned before, the minutes were one reason I was targeting him. Another reason would be the matchup against the fast-paced Rockets who lack a bit defensively. This gives more opportunities to pick up fantasy points.  He can be used at the power forward and center position on DK.

[spacer height=”20px”]

Isaiah Hartenstein, NEW YORK KNICKS ($4700)

The Knicks picked up Hartenstein in the off season and played him 40 minutes in the opening game against the Grizzlies. The 40 minutes was in over-time, but still promising that he was on the court that long as he outplayed Mitchell Robinson.  Hartenstein has the ability to rack up fantasy points in as short time and should do well tonight in the matchup against the Pistons. The kid can put a double-double up most nights when given the opportunity and he should get solid minutes again tonight after his performance on Wednesday night. Projecting him for 33.9 FPs and that would return 7.0 value on DK.
[spacer height=”20px”]

Marcus Smart, BOSTON CELTICS ($5300)

The Celtics added Malcom Brogdon during the off season, and it was uncertain what Smart position would be on the team. Smart is the Celtics best defensive player, and he should be on the court most of the game. He not only plays excellent defense- he is also able to get into other players heads talking trash. Coming off a solid season opening performance playing 36 minutes and contributing 30 FPs (14 pts, 4 rebounds, 7 assists and a steal) I expect Smart to play 30 plus minutes tonight against the Heat and put up another solid performance. At $5300 on DK, Smart is a bit underpriced and should have no problem returning 6-7 times value tonight.
[spacer height=”20px”]

Ja Morant, MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES ($10,100)

Morant picked up this season where he left off last season. He has the ability to put up 40 points and drop 10 plus assists along with grabbing five-seven rebounds. The go-to player on the Grizzlies and a fun player to watch. Love the matchup and ceiling for him tonight against the Rockets who run fast and give up a lot of points. This should be a good game to target players from and can run it back with Kevin Porter Jr. and Jabari Smith II. Add in Santi Aldama and John Konchar.

Dimes Play

Terry Taylor- started last game with Turner sitting due to an injury. Solid game with 18 FPs. Excellent Matchup tonight against the Spurs. Can see upside around 8-10x tonight with 25 plus minutes. Delon Wright was my second option for dimes play. I see him having a big game as well.

**Options to help build lineups- Take these core plays and enter into optimizer with your favorite settings (rating, FBrating, FBprojections, FunkProjections, ownership or ratings). OR use this article to help you build a lineup with some of your favorite plays.
