NHL DFS: The Slapshot – Feb 12th

Five games on the Saturday night slate and after crushing the 4 game slate last night we’ll look to double down tonight with a nice sized NHL DFS slate.

Nobody stands out as an obvious leverage play this evening.  The Islanders and Jets are both playing B2B spots on the road and the Leafs are continuing a west coast trip post the ASB to make up some games.  But really nothing major worth noting that I see anywhere on that front.

CENTERS

  1. Mikael Granlund
  2. John Tavares
  3. Ryan O’Reilly

WINGS

  1. William Nylander / Mitchell Marner
  2. Jordan Kyrou / Brayden Schenn
  3. Matt Duchene / Filip Forsberg
  4. Kyle Connor
  5. Alex DeBrincat – LW get a positive boost against St. Louis.  The 2nd/3rd defensive pairings for the Blues have below average ratings lately and the CHI 2nd line likely draws those favorable spots.

VALUE

  1. Dominik Kubalik (Value)
  2. Bo Horvat (Value)

DEFENSE

  1. Roman Josi
  2. Morgan Rielly
  3. Noah Hanifin
  4. Oliver Ekman-Larsson

PREDATORS

Granlund, Duchene, Forsberg, Josi

Nashville gets an advantage by drawing Winnipeg on a road B2B scenario.  With Winnipeg not being a dominant defense this should present an early lead and 4 goal night from Nashville.

BLUES

St. Louis does their damage on the Power Play (27%) so drawing Chicago’s (74%) poor penalty kill is an ideal area to focus on.  The PP1 unit parts are O’Reilly-Schenn-Tarasenko-Perron-Krug, while the Ryan O’Reilly-Jordan Kyrou combination on the top line really stands out to me as a nice starting point.  All told, Blues are a core team tonight as much as anyone else but tough to have a clear path on what to stack.

O’Reilly, Kyrou/Tarasenko, Faulk/Krug

MAPLE LEAFS

Tavares, Nylander, Kerfoot, Rielly

Cam Talbot – Wild

Talbot projects to see 33.4 which is the third most shots on the slate but has a really good consistency score of late.  Minnesota being at home helps the confidence level a lot here too.

Jacob Markstrom – Flames

Likely chalk with NY Isles being in town and on a back to back.  I am very skeptical that he will see enough shots to provide a safe floor.
