Key Skaters

W Artemi Panarin (NYR)

While Panarin may not be lighting the world on fire with his production this season, for his standards at least, he’s been producing at a high enough level on a good Rangers team that warrant consideration for tonight. Detroit comes into the Garden after allowing seven goals the other night to the Minnesota Wild. Panarin has points in seven of his last nine games with multi-point efforts on five occasions over that stretch and is priced at just $5,900.

W Patrick Kane (CHI)

When you wanna talk about skaters that are underpriced look no further, other than Panarin of course, then Patrick Kane who is just $6,200 against one of the worst defensive teams in hockey. Kane has points in six of his last seven games and Chicago is returning home after a three-game road trip. I think the Blackhawks trounce Columbus tonight and that Kane is on his way to a multi-point night.

C Evgeny Kuznetsov (WAS)

Kuzy has gone pointless in two straight games however a matchup with the Flyers could be just what he needs to get back on track. Philly has essentially given up on the season, their veteran captain wants out, and they’re simply skating out the rest of the schedule. Kuzy is skating on the top line and top power-play unit and there’s, once again, great value with him here.

Favorite Line Stacks

New York Rangers

Mika Zibanajad, Chris Kreider, Artemi Panarin, Alexis Lafreniere, Adam Fox

There’s simply no reasonable explanation for the Rangers’ salaries tonight. Zibanajad ($7,000) and Fox ($6,600) are the only skaters for the Blueshirts priced above $6k. Panarin who I spoke about above is $5,900 but Kreider, who is tied for the league lead in goals (which is a goddamn miracle) is just $5,600 and Lafreniere who’s getting first-line minutes is $2,900. All of these skaters are featured on the top power-play unit with the exception of Lafreniere and is one of the more penalized teams in the league with one of the worst penalty kills.

Washington Capitals

Evgeny Kuznetsov, Alex Ovechkin, Conor Sheary, John Carlson

Ovechkin is the guy you’re paying up for here but it’s obviously warranted against the putrid Flyers. Other than Ovie and maybe Carlson ($6,200), Kuzy and Shaery are underpriced in a great spot, albeit on the road.

St. Louis Blues

Ryan O’Reilly, Vladimir Tarasenko, Pavel Buchnevich, Torey Krug

A team that I can’t quite figure out is the St. Louis Blues. They’ve scored five goals in back-to-back games but prior to that, they had a game against the New Jersey Devils in which they allowed seven and a game against the Winnipeg Jets in which they looked as if they didn’t even want to be out there. With that being said, I won’t overlook them tonight in Montreal against the Canadiens who are a colossal disaster losers of 10-straight.
