Key Skaters
C Mikko Rantanen (COL)
- As one of the teams that have been beaten on all season the Avalanche will ideally have their way with the Arizona Coyotes. Rantanen has three goals and an assist in his last two games against Arizona, a team that is often penalized and severely lacking on the penalty kill.
W David Pastrnak (BOS)
- Pasta has gone goal-less in each of his last three games after a stretch in which he netted 11 goals in a nine-game stretch. Seattle has struggled in its first season as an NHL franchise allowing 3.52 goals per game (29th) and posting a 5-12-2 record on the road.
W Kyle Connor (WPG)
- Connor is extremely expensive which leads me to believe that he won’t carry much ownership in a cupcake matchup with the Flyers. Philly allow the third-most scoring chances per 60 at 5v5 in the league and have the third-highest expected goals against rate per 60 at 5v5. Connor comes in with a goal in three of his last four games and 24 total on the season.
Favorite Line Stacks
Boston Bruins
Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand
- There isn’t much to say about the Bruins’ top line which looks to be back together after being split for a bit. Plain and simpe this is one of the best lines in hockey at home matching up against one of the worst road teams and defensive teams overall in the league.
New York Islanders
Mathew Barzal, Anders Lee, Oliver Wahlstrom, Noah Dobson
There’s a ton of value and a ton of potential with this Islanders’ line stack. All four skaters correlate on the top power-play unit in a matchup with the Senators who are playing their second game in as many nights. I’m expecting fatigue to play a factor and for the Islanders to get some powwer-play opportunities against one of the most penalized teams in the league as far as shorthanded minutes per game is concerned.
