NHL DFS: The Slapshot – Jan 31st

What stands out to me.

I am changing up the flow of the article here a little bit.  Everything when it comes to content that I produce is intended to help you quickly assess the slate while giving out picks and guidance that will help you find a way to profit.  So with that said, here’s what stood out to me the most today in the form of quick thoughts

  1. Florida Panthers … They are facing the poor Blue Jackets on a back to back.  I want Florida exposure tonight and no reason for me not to consider the Barkov line as that exposure.
  2. Chicago Power Play …  Vancouver ranks fairly poorly on PK (69%) and Chicago’s PP unit is very centralized to a few key pieces.  I like Chicago at home and their PP should account for scoring tonight.
  3. While Edmonton and Toronto both are the big name teams, neither is a must own for me tonight.

Aleksander Barkov – Panthers

$7800 for Barkov, compared to $9000 for AM34 and $9200 for McDavid.  He arguably has the better match-up and so there’s no reason he isn’t in the Key-3 tonight.

Patrick Kane – Blackhawks

PK leads the Hawks in power play shots on goal, he is a must at $6200 as he has 5 points over his last two and likely is turning the corner after a long cold slump

Cam Fowler – Ducks

The Ducks are my go to value team here and since Detroit is a target team for defensemen that means Fowler/Shattenskirk figure to be the likely ones to benefit the most.
