NHL DFS: The Slapshot – Thu, Jan 13th

It’s been a while since we had a slate this large, or so it feels like it to me at least.  And there’s no Edmonton (still), Toronto or Colorado either tonight.  But we do have Boston against the gaping hole that is the Philadelphia Flyers defense system.

Wanna go contrarian tonight?  Play Carter Hart.

Dont play Carter Hart.

Carolina Hurricanes

Trocheck, Svechnikov, Fast

Columbus is on a spiral to nowhere, they do not defend particularly well and that CAR2 line is great value that also will see plenty of power play opportunities.

Chicago Blackhawks

Toews, DeBrincat, Kubalik

Another second line on the home team I am in love with today.

St. Louis Blues

Thomas, Kyrou, Krug

Boston Bruins

Bergeron, Marchand, Pastrnak

I can’t ignore the Bruins facing the Flyers, when they failed to price the Bruins properly.   I would personally prefer to play just Pastrnak naked than the entire Bruins second line, so this is a PP1 and find value stack or nothing.

CENTERS

  1. Patrice Bergeron (BOS)
  2. Pierre-Luc Dubois (WPG) … The Jets did not make the top 4 cut and I probably will regret that.  They are the ideal team that absolutely will do jack shit when chalky and go off when not.  I cannot envision them gaining  ton of chalk tonight on this big slate, so of course we’ll want either PLD or Conner as one offs.
  3. Vincent Trocheck (CAR)

WINGS

Pastrnak and Marchand vs the Flyers are very much ideal plays, but you can certainly try to avoid them if building as a 3-3 or 2-2 combination stack with Hawks/Canes or Blues.

  1. David Pastrnak (BOS)
  2. Alex DeBrincat (CHI)
  3. Andrei Svechnikov (CAR)
  4. Kyle Conner (WPG)
  5. Matt Duchene (NSH)
  6. Anders Lee (NYI)
  7. Cam Atkinson (PHI) … Boston can be scored on too ya know?

Value

  1. Marcus Johansson (SEA)
  2. Alexis Lafreniere (NYR)

[spacer height=”20px”]

DEFENSE

  1. Roman Josi (NSH)
  2. Torey Krug (STL)
  3. Justin Faulk (STL)
  4. Neal Pionk (WPG)

[spacer height=”20px”]

  1. Ilya Sorokin (NYI)
  2. Ville Husso (STL)
  3. Matt Murray (OTT)
