C Sebastian Aho (CAR)

• The Hurricanes who just had their seven-game winning streak snapped are facing the Columbus Blue Jackets, one of the worst defensive teams in the league. Carolina faced Columbus on the first of the year and trounced them 7-4 in Columbus. In that game, Aho went scoreless but has three points in his last two games. Carolina and Aho should have their way with the Jackets.

W Patrick Kane (CHI)

• The Canadiens look like a team just simply going through the motions right now judging by their performance against the Bruins last night – they allowed 28 shots and four goals in the first two periods of the game with little to no resistance. Chicago has won two straight coming off a 4-2 road win and Kane has points in five straight games with multiple points in two of those contests. Despite just tallying seven goals to this point, Kane has 32 points in 32 games, and against a team in Montreal playing its second game in as many nights the future Hall of Famer should have his way.

W David Pastrnak (BOS)

Going back to the well with Pasta and the Bruins, in general, seems like a winning proposition as they welcome in the lowly Flyers. Philly has allowed four or more goals in two of its last three games allowing six scores on two of those occasions. Boston controlled this match up the last time they faced off with a 5-2 win back in November.

Favorite Line Stacks

Carolina Hurricanes

Sebastian Aho, Teuvo Terravainen, Andrei Svechnikov

• With Aho and Terravainen there’s top line and top power-play correlation with two guys who have a lot of chemistry from skating together over the years. Svechnikov joins them on the top power-play unit and is the main scoring option on a solid second line. This is a bad Columbus team and even though the Carolina skaters may be pricey they should steamroll them in a fast-paced affair.

Nashville Predators

Mikael Granlund, Eeli Tolvanen, Matt Duchene, Roman Josi

• Granlund, Tolvanen, and Duchene skate together on the top line and top power-play unit. Despite Nashville, the Central division leaders being without Filip Forsberg, there’s still a ton of depth and firepower here. Another piece to the puzzle is Roman Josi who on the back end has 37 points (12 goals) in 35 games. Buffalo has lost six games in a row including their last game when they allowed six goals at home to Tampa. Traveling to Nashville, one of the better home-ice advantages in the league will be no easy task.

Chicago Blackhawks

Jonathan Toews, Alex Debrincat, Patrick Kane

• Toews offers a ton of value at $4,600 skating with Debrincat at even strength. Debrincat has goals in five of his last seven games with a total of seven goals over that span and has 23 on the year. Also, this duo joins Patrick Kane on the top power-play unit. Seth Jones is out as of now as he looks to clear COVID protocols. If he’s back I’ll look to add him in some of my Blackhawk stacks as he’s a major offensive factor at even strength and on the power-play.

Calgary Flames

Elias Lindholm, Matthew Tkachuk, Johnny Gaudreau

• One of the better lines in the league this season finds a great matchup to exploit facing the Ottawa Senators who haven’t played since the first of the year due to four postponements. With that said Calgary has played four games over that span and won just once. Look for the Flames and the top line get back to business in this matchup.
