NBA DFS DROPPIN DIMES-Tuesday, JANUARY 12TH

Looking at a 9-game slate starting at 7pm
Always keep an eye on the status of players before lock, especially now. There are still a decent number of players with questionable tags.

GAME/TEAM NOTES

  • Philadelphia 76ers- get a nice 5.2 possession boost tonight against the Hornets who rank 27th in defensive efficiency. You can look at both sides as the 76ers have not been the best defensively as of late and the Hornets players salaries are reasonable.
[spacer height=”20px”]
  • San Antonio Spurs/Houston Rockets game– fast paced game with the Rockets as the worst defense in the league and the Spurs ranked 20th.
[spacer height=”20px”]
  • LA Lakers/Sacramento Kings game– fastest pace game on the slate with the Kings getting a nice pace boost of 3 possessions. The Kings rank 26th in defensive efficiency and the Lakers are ranked 16th, but they are one of the worst teams against opposing point guards and this is why D’Aaron Fox is one of my favorite plays tonight.

CORE

Onyeka Okongwu-with Cepala doubtful again, Okongwu becomes a solid value at his price of 3.9K. Playing 38 minutes last game and averaging 20 over the last 3 games. He has hit 20 plus FPs in 3 straight games with 35 against the 76ers in late December.

[spacer height=”20px”]
D’Aaron Fox– First, Fox price is still way too low. Yes, I have seen his the past two games where her put up 24 and 26 FPs. One of those games was against one of the better defensive teams in the league. Before these two games, Fox has 42 or more FPs in 4 straight and was shooting the ball well. Fox played the Lakers earlier this month and put up 30 real points on 21 shots. The volume is still there with 20 or more shots in 3 of the last 5 games as well. Pace up spot and one of the best defensive matchups for a point guard tonight makes Fox one of my favorite plays tonight.  The ownership should be around 5-8 %. with upside around 50 FPs.
[spacer height=”20px”]
Lonnie Walker IV- is in play again with the Spurs still down a few main players. Walker has the second highest usage at over 30% with White, Vassell, Johnson and McDermott off the floor.  He is averaging 1 FPPM over the last month and has taken 19 and 20 shots over the past 2 games. This is an elite matchup against the Rockets and Walker could exceed 20 shots and points tonight. His upside is around 40 FPs.
[spacer height=”20px”]
Jakob Poeltl– Rockets are the worst team against centers. He is only 6.3K and could push close to 50 FPs tonight if he plays 30 plus minutes. Averaging a double-double over the last 8 games with just shy of 2 blocks and a steal per game in that time-frame.

Just missed the core
  • Dejounte Murray-pushing 50 plus every night on poor shooting.
  • Spencer Dinwiddie-no Beal again tonight means that Dinwiddie is a an excellent play at 6k.
Top Pay Up Spots (along with the players above-just missed core)
  • Malik Monk
  • Jaylen Brown
  • Tyler Herro

Point guard is loaded with good plays tonight. D’Aaron Fox is one of my favorite plays and Dejounte Murray and Spencer Dinwiddie just missed the core. They are also excellent plays tonight.

Also consider:  Dennis Schroder-should start with Smart out. Has played well in the starting lineup,  Kyle Lowry, Tyrese Maxey

Also consider: LaMello Ball, Tyrese Haliburton

Also consider: Chuma Okeke, Gordon Hayward, Terrance Ross- could take 25 shots tonight!

Also consider:  DeMar DeRozan, Kevin Durant- if Harden or Irving are out.

Also consider:  Joel Embiid, Christian Wood

Dimes Play

Eric Paschall– The Jazz have just listed Hassan Whitesite out. This will open up minute for Paschall at close to minimum price.
