NBA DFS DROPPIN DIMES-Tuesday, JANUARY 25th

Looking at a 9-game slate starting at 7pm.

The “Droppin Dimes,” article will go over my favorite plays for the slate. It will consist of three to five core plays  along with some additional plays and some value plays. You will not always see the highest-priced players or the most obvious plays. The article will be the building blocks to help construct lineup/s.

(Note: All pricing and fantasy points are based on DraftKings but can be used for all sites.)

Always keep an eye on the status of players before lock, especially now. There are still a decent number of players with questionable tags.

GAME/TEAM NOTES
  • Spurs and Rockets game has a 235.5 total with the Rockets dead last in defense over the past seven days and pretty much on the year. The Spurs have been a bit better defensively over the past 7, but still are a team to target. This game will run at a fast pace as well.
  • Lakers and Nets game has a 226 total (3rd on the slate). This game is scheduled to run at the second fastest pace. The Lakers have been awful defensively over the past seven games coming in as the 3rd worst defensive team.
  • The Blazers and Timberwolves game comes in at the 2nd highest total and runs at the 3rd fastest pace. The Timberwolves are ranked 22nd in defense over the past seven games.
  • The Pelicans have ruled out a few more players today on top of what they ruled out yesterday. This opens up a ton of value for the team. Look here for some of the top value plays for tonight.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker , New Orleans Pelicans ($3700)
NAW gave us a glimpse of what he is capable of putting up when given the opportunity. (30.3 FPs, taking 13 shots and adding in 6 assists). He was the Dimes Play of the Day yesterday and is in the core today. The Pelicans are without their starting lineup and a few other player. This leaves NAW with a 34.8% usage rate with those players off the floor and the fact he should take 20 plus shots tonight. He should easily hit value coming in at only 3.7K and it is highly possible the puts up over 10 times value tonight against the Sixers who run at a faster pace and lack a bit defensively. You can also look at Jose Alvarado who has played well recently at only 3.1K
[spacer height=”20px”]
Jaxson Hayes, New Orleans Pelicans ($3100)
Hayes is coming in as a free square tonight at 3.1K with Jonas Valancuinas , Josh Hart and Brandon Ingram out tonight for the Pelicans. He is a FPPM player on the season and has pushed 20 FPs in under 20 minutes a few times this year. Given the Pelicans situation tonight, Hayes should see at least 20 minutes and possible 30 and comes in at one of the best value plays on the slate. The center spot will be shared by Hayes and Willy Hernangomez tonight (in play as well).
[spacer height=”20px”]
Herbert Jones, New Orleans Pelicans ($4500)
Jones comes in as the 3rd player listed in the core tonight with the possibility of playing a few more Pelicans. Jones has been consistent this year contributing in all categories, but not really excelling in any. A good defender and all around player that has the upside when he gets more shots off and picks up some additional stocks(steals+blocks). This will be his best opportunity for that upside as the Pelicans will be without five major players tonight.
[spacer height=”20px”]
Derrick White, San Antonio Spurs ($6000)
Since returning from his five games COVID absence, White has hit 30 plus FPs in three of the last five games and just missing the other two. Last two games with 35 plus FPs on very poor shooting 4-15 and 4-16. Tonight, he gets an elite matchup where 40 plus FPs is in play. Love this spot for White and the Spurs. I will have Pelicans and Spurs as the base of my main lineup tonight.

Just missed the core….
  • CJ McCollum
  • Dejounte Murray– keeps crushing(walking triple/double.
  • Pelicans(Jose Alvarado, Willy HernanGomez, Naji Marshall).
Top Pay Up Spots (along with the players above-just missed core)
  • James Harden- elite spot with No Irving or Durant.
  • Pascal Siakam
  • Jalen Brown

Thomas Bryant- minutes are ramping up and so production, but salary still 3.4K. Love his upside and low ownership tonight. 8-10x
