QUICK HITTING THOUGHTS

Avs vs Flyers

Philadelphia was steam rolled at home by the Lightning on Sunday and fired head coach Alan Vigneault today, great timing with Colorado coming to town with guys going in and out but likely having Nazem Kadri back tonight to go along with MacKinnon being back for the fourth straight game.  Colorado is getting Cale Makar back which is going to tremendously help them defensively by virtue of how much better it makes them offensively.  I would either go all in on a 4-3 type game here or fade it.

Ducks vs Capitals

Like Colorado, Washington is getting healthier too and this is the second straight home game now that Connor Sheary and T.J. Oshie are back on the ice and it’s a favorable spot at home vs Anaheim.

Senators vs Devils

Not

This is a make up game from a previously canceled COVID related game.  The Devils should walk all over Ottawa.

Coyotes vs Stars

Arizona has been slightly better over the last month but that’s not saying too much considering how horrific they started off the season.  As Dallas is the biggest favorite at -330 today and this is a six game slate this certainly presents us with the strongest ‘leverage’ scenario we will see tonight.  Arizona does give up a ton of shots, but Dallas isn’t a team who comes out fast and shooting a ton.  I would avoid this game all together and play for the variance side on the chalky Stars players.

Penguins vs Kraken

Seattle is playing very well right now, which we kind of thought the expansion Kraken would do at some point this year just to make people think they’re the next Knights — they aren’t.  I like Pittsburgh here.

Kings vs Canucks

There was a rumor that Vancouver was going to be hiring Bruce Boudreau and holy hell it has come true and that is glorious for DFS given his style, but for now we wait and see what happens with this team overall and we just take the value on the other side with Kopitar-Brown-Doughty and the Kings power play to have a really solid game.  This is my favorite stack price considered tonight.

Stack Rankings

  1. LA Kings – Kopitar / Brown / Doughty
  2. NJ Devils – Hischier / Zacha / Hamilton
  3. Washington Caps – Kuznetsov / Ovechkin / Wilson

TOP POSITIONAL PLAYS

I am personally building a CORE stack (L.A. Kings) and mixing in one off higher volume plays such as Ovechkin, MacKinnon and Letang around that or the other CORE Stacks mentioned above.  Washington would be the one “pay up” spot.

CENTERS

Key Player:  Anze Kopitar – Kings

  1. Nathan MacKinnon
  2. Roope Hintz
  3. Nico Hischier

WINGS

Lots of value on this slate in terms of stacks and even at winger, which means we can take Ovechkin at home in a game he should hit the SOG tally and have 1+ points registered.

Key Player:  Alex Ovechkin – Capitals

  1. Jake Guentzel
  2. Dustin Brown – Value
  3. Pavel Zacha
  4. Jason Robertson
  5. Travis Konecny – Value

DEFENSE

Key Player:   John Klingberg – Stars

  1. Kris Letang
  2. Quinn Hughes
  3. Drew Doughty
  4. John Klingberg

GOALIES

  1. MacKenzie Blackwood … I love the Devils to win and he will see a high shot volume.
