NHL DFS: The Slapshot – Nov 18th

FAVORITE STACKS

St Louis Blues – O’Reilly, Kyrou, Buchnevich, Krug

Jordan Kyrou has goals in 4 of his last 5 and I am looking for that production to continue in a positive way tonight vs San Jose.

Calgary Flames – Lindholm, Tkachuk, Gaudreau

DraftKings is baiting us to take the Calgary top line with nobody over $6,700 and Johnny G being $5,400.  Oddly enough this is the second “east” coast trip for Calgary already this season and in three of the four games so far they have been held to 2 goals once and just 1 goal twice.  The outlier though was against Ottawa and like the Senators tonights opponent, Buffalo is a good get right spot for them to have 3+ goals.

Their road trip is going to conclude with B2B games over the weekend at the Isles and Bruins — neither of which I expect them to do well in.  So its tonight or never for Calgary and then fade them over the weekend.

Toronto Maple Leafs – Matthews, Marner, Ritchie

We have Matthews vs McDavid again tonight and some will force both in, but I would not be fading Matthews against New York.

Pittsburgh Penguins – Little Bitch, Jake Guentzel, Bryan Rust

#87 should have enough games under his legs now to be very fresh and lead the Pens top line against a bad Montreal team.  Look for Bryan Rust to get out of a cold slump right now with a goal tonight and Guentzel is one of the best wings going right now so you should get a nice full tic-tac-toe stack here.  Of course, that requires rostering this garbage center they have, but hey, maybe you can get points for guys who play dirty and then cry when they get touched in the wrong spot.

SLEEPER TEAM

New Jersey Devils – Hischier, Zacha, Hamilton + Goalie Blackwood

With Florida likely playing without Aleksander Barkov it opens up a great chance to go contrarian on the other side as the Devils might have an easier time down in South Beach today.  They’re the best cheap stack on the slate aside from Columbus later on vs Arizona and I am confident that any production should come from Nico Hischier’s line + Dougie Hamilton and a solid save performance from MacKenzie Blackwood.

KEY SKATERS

Lineup construction tonight seems pretty clear to me for 1-3 entry.  Focus your main core stack around at least one of the high priced centers and find good value at wing and 2D.

CENTERS:

  • Austin Matthews – Favorite pay up guy on this slate.  His consistent shot volume alone will make him worth the cost.
  • Connor McDavid – Edmonton returns home but its a Back to Back with Winnipeg who has had their number.
  • Steven Stamkos – Is priced up as his role has gone back up, however he has a long history of giving the Flyers fits.
  • Ryan O’Reilly – Will have to be correlated with other Blues, he is mostly an assist guy.
  • Tomas Hertl

WINGS:

  • Oliver Bjorkstrand … OBJ has tore up Arizona and is on a tear this season, his $7100 price tag should keep his ownership down but wings vs the ‘Yotes has been productive.
  • Sam Reinhart
  • Cam Atkinson
  • Bryan Rust
  • Pavel Buchnevich

VALUE WINGS:

  • Evgenii Dadanov – Early info has him skating on the top unit again with a $3700 price tag.  Very ideal
  • Nick Ritchie – $2700 next to Austin Matthews and getting PP2 time.
  • Gustav Nyquist

DEFENSE:

  • Dougie Hamilton
  • Jeff Petry
  • John Klingberg
