NHL DFS: The Slapshot – October 27th

Just five games tonight and the pricing on DraftKings is something that really makes you pause and wonder what they are doing. Essentially everyone is free tonight and you can get a balanced lineup that resembles the old NHL days over at FanDuel. I don’t hate it to be honest and with that kind of pricing we are more likely to see a full line stack or Power Play stack take things down tonight than normal.

That said, every game tonight appears high scoring with good offenses battling things out in most spots.

TOP STACKS

Toronto Maple Leafs — Matthew, Nylander

This is not one of those value type spots, however the AM34-Nylander combination is worth paying up for against a really bad Blackhawks team who has a ton of issues all around as an organization. The Leafs haven’t had a big high scoring game yet but is poised to break out with a 4 goal game tonight and 2 minimum from the top line.

Edmonton Oilers — McDavid, Hyman / Konecny, Provorov

This is my favorite all around game stack spot as the Flyers and Oilers are both letting teams shoot the puck a ton and of all the game to go over this has to be our favorite one. You will want some Flyers defense exposure against the Oilers who are giving up over 9 fantasy points per game to defenseman and historically are a good spot for opposing blue liners.

Dallas Stars — Hintz, Pavelski, Gurianov, Klingberg

I hate when Dallas has Seguin down on a line by himself, but overall I want to attack the Knights coming off a big upset road win over the Avalanche last night. This is a bad back to back for Vegas going into Dallas who should be physical and control the puck in the offensive end. Look for Dallas’ top power play unit to score a goal early in this game.

ONE OFF SKATERS TO CONSIDER

Sam Bennett – C – Florida Panthers

Look for the Boston1 and Florida1 lines to cancel each other out today. I know Bergeron is too cheap but I would prefer the better team right now at home and that is Florida.

Centers: Matthews, McDavid, Hintz

Anthony Mantha – W – Washington Capitals

It pains me to say I have missed all the Oshie games including his hat trick this season, so I am going to double down and not ride Oshie or Ovi here and take the former Red Wing Anthony Mantha vs his terrible former team.

Wingers: Nylander, Konecny, Taylor Hall

Value: Denis Gurianov, Peyton Krebs

John Carlson – D – Washington Capitals

One of the odd pricing plays tonight is Carlson. You get the Caps top defenseman for just $5,300? Very simple to lock him in.

Defenseman: Provorov, Klingberg, Yandle, Rielly

GOALIES

Great spot for a leverage consideration given that there are just five games, but your only true leverage is going with Blackhawks netminder or Flyers netminder against AM34 or McDavid chalk. Do either really sound tempting? Not really, although Carter Hart at $7,300 is going to see a ton of shots and most certainly can steal a win for the Flyers, but there’s two better options in my mind.
