The Slapshot – Feb 5th

A great night last night but it should be tempered with expectations considering many teams had a productive night and I wound up with the less than stellar goalie performance from Binnington.  Fortunately he didn’t go negative though.

The Predators and Panthers are back at it tonight as the only game from last night repeating today.

TOP STACKS

Anaheim Ducks

Ryan Getzlaf – Adam Henrique – Hampus Lindholm

We start things off with a … WTF? … I simply love this game tonight and it should be extremely contrarian.  There’s some stud value in one offs from Tampa, Boston and Vegas today, so lets find a nice mid range or value stack to anchor things with today.  Ryan Getzlaf is screaming at me today to get a goal and an assist, so he anchors this stack.

Florida Power Play

There is of course no reason to not like the Florida PP1 again today.

THREE ONE OFF SKATERS

C – Brayden Point (Lightning)

Detroit is horrific against centers.  It’s a good C slate and with Getzlaf/Kevin Hayes being decent values I can see a path to build a lineup spending at Wing instead of center tonight but that doesn’t mean Point and Barkov and Karlsson aren’t good plays too.  I prefer to take the value of a full stack and then pair it with one off studs 9 times out of 10 and that’s the situation here.

Other C:  William Karlsson, Kevin Hayes, Aleksander Barkov

W – Timo Meier (San Jose)

Timo shoots over 5 times per game and the Ducks have yielded 10 SOG bonuses to RW this season through 11 games.  Its a match made in heavan.

Other W:  David Pastrnak, Travis Konecny, Anthony Duclair, Max Pacioretty

D – Mattias Ekholm (Preds)

So I watched Shawshank Redemption again last night.  Which means it has now been 0 days since I last watched Shawshank Redemption and that is how it should be.  One of my favorite lines in that movie is when Morgan Freeman is going in for his final meeting to get released from prison and he gives his rant and says “quite frankly I don’t give a shit”.  Such a great line.  Why do I mention this?  Because I am going to roster Ekholm off a 20+ point night for the second straight game and use him in the same lineup as my goalie (Florida’s G) tonight…  Because quite frankly

Other D:  Hampus Lindholm, Mikhal Sergachev, Brent Burns

GOALIES

This is a fantastic goalie slate.  Do not @ me.

Chris Driedger (Florida) … Sub 8k & likely will see over 30 SOG which brings in the bonus upside.  Expect Florida to win tonight in a game which is a little lower scoring than last night.

Andrei Vasilevskiy (Tampa) … Wont see a ton of SOG, but should win.

SLAP … SHOTS

LINE LOCK OF THE NIGHT Getzlaf – Henrique – Lindholm (Ducks)
ONE OFF STUD Brayden Point (Lightning)
CONTRARIAN ONE OFF Brent Burns (Sharks)

GPP FADE OF THE NIGHT Vegas Golden Knights … Lets see if the Kings can repeat their control over the Knights from a year ago
